Mount Norikura, located along the southern edge of the Northern Japan Alps, reaches to 3,026 meters above sea level and is the site of the Norikura Skline, a grand expressway that offers extraordinary views of the surrounding natural beauty! From the endpoint of the Skyline, Tatamidaira, to the highest peak of Kengamine is an hour and a half trek on foot, a trip well worth the effort!
From there and elsewhere, you can gaze at the wondrous mountains from a vantage point literally above the clouds! This fantastic sight is one that you will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in Japan, and in particular the sunrise scenery will absolutely blow you away with its grandeur.
