1. Introduction

The privacy of visitors (“you” or “your”) to the Website “visitgifu.com” (“the Website”) is important to the Gifu Prefecture Tourism Federation (“the Federation”, ”we”, ”us” or “our”) which is a Gifu Prefecture based general incorporated association with the mission of increasing visitation to Gifu Prefecture. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform how we use personal information collected on the Website. This policy applies only to personal information that you have provided to us or which is collected through the use of the Website.

2. Information we collect

The personal information collected by us is as follows:

(1) Information that you provide to us through inquiry forms, etc.
We may collect personal information about you, such as your name, country of residence, and email address.

(2) Information about website browsing experiences
We use Google Analytics to collect information about how you use the Website. It is performed through cookies and IP addresses collected by Google. The information is anonymized before being used for analytics processing.

Google Analytics processes anonymized information about:
(1) The pages you visit on the Website
(2) How long you spend on each page of the Website
(3) How you got to the Website
(4) What you click on while you’re visiting the Website

By using the Website, you consent to the processing of such data by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above. This feature allows you to refuse collection by disabling cookies (please check your browser settings) or using Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We do not store your personal information through Google Analytics (for example your name or address). 3. How we use your personal information

We may collect and process your personal information for the purpose in question, which is required to provide our services, send the requested brochures to data subjects, update our social media pages and improve our online presence, reply to enquiries and manage and evaluate our relationship with business partners and communicate with them etc. Further detailed purposes are listed below:

(1) Processing of data of users making general enquiries through our website
(2) Processing of personal information of the entrants to our campaign(s) through website
(3) Processing of personal information of the respondents to questionnaires at events

We may share your personal data with the Gifu Prefectural Government and other third parties for the following purposes:

(1) To reply to enquiries you have sent to us
(2) To detect and prevent crime, fraudulent activities or security issues, or for other legal reasons or obligations

5. International data transfers (For users in Europe)

Your personal data may be transferred and processed outside of your home country and outside of the European Economic Area. The laws of these countries may not afford the same level of protection to your personal data.

We will use reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural measures within our organization to safeguard personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized use, disclosure, or modification. 

Any personal information held by or on our behalf is stored on secure servers, with modern security measures in place to protect against the loss, unauthorized access or alteration, or misuse of such information. Where such personal information is held by unrelated third parties on our behalf, we have also imposed contractual obligations on such parties to ensure the confidentiality and security of such information. 

However, while we will take all reasonable measures (as required by applicable law) to protect the integrity of such information, we cannot guarantee that loss, unauthorized access or alterations, or misuse will not occur.

7. Your rights

(1) How to use your rights
You will always receive a confirmation of the action we have taken on your request (for example, confirmation of deletion). We will let you know if we cannot fulfil a request you have made, and the reasons behind such a decision. We reserve the right to reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, excessive or clearly unfounded.

(2) Right to access
You have the right to access and be informed about the personal data we process about you. We will provide you with it unless we have lawful reason not to share this data or if sharing the data would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others.

(3) Right to rectification
You have the right to rectify or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data we have about you.

(4) Right to erasure
You may ask us to delete your personal data, and we will erase such data without undue delay, unless we have a lawful reason to continue processing the data, such as for delivering the requested services or if there is a legal requirement or lawful right for us to retain personal data.

(5) Right to restrict and to object
You may ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data, for example when your request to correct or remove your data is pending, or if you have objected to the processing of your personal data and the clarification of the grounds for such processing is pending.

(6) Right to withdraw your consent
You have the right to change your mind and withdraw any consent you have previously given to us.

You have the right to receive the personal data you have given to us in a structured and commonly used electronic format, and to independently transmit that data to a third party.

(8) Lodging a complaint
If you feel we have not handled your personal data correctly, you can contact the data protection supervisory authority and lodge a formal complaint.

8. Storage term

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for us to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or in so far as data storage is necessary for compliance with legal obligations and for solving potential claims or disputes.

We may propose hypertext links from the Website to third-party websites or Internet sources. We do not control and cannot be held liable for third parties’ data protection practices and content. 10. Children

Our products and services are intended for adult customers. Thus, we do not knowingly collect and process any personal data of children under sixteen (16). If we discover that we have collected and processed the personal data of a child under sixteen (16), or the equivalent minimum age depending on the concerned jurisdiction, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.

We may change this privacy policy from time to time. “Last updated” at the top of this page tells you when the policy was last updated and the change(s) will take effect when the revised privacy policy is posted.
