Learn about Nagara River cormorant fishing in an easy-to-understand manner

This museum serves as a place that introduces and promotes the values of cormorant fishing on the Nagara River, a cultural tradition that represents Gifu City, in an easy-to-understand manner all year long. We continue to promote the beauty of cormorant fishing even during its off season—actual fishing is held annually from May 11 to October 15.

The facility is jam-packed with things to see such as the Guidance Theater, the only picture-scroll-shaped presentation screen in the world, and many interactive exhibits.

On weekends and national holidays during the off season there are live cormorant-fishing demonstrations and explanations given by the actual cormorant fishermen themselves.
