Gifu makes the news yet again – this time as part of an 8-page feature article in the 2023 September issue of Travel + Leisure, one of the top travel magazines in the US with up to a million copies in circulation and as many as 16 million readers per month.
The theme of the feature article, by husband and wife team Jason Fulford and Tamara Shopsin, was “sustainable tourism” – giving insight into the collective environmental effort across the prefecture, and introduces Gifu’s beloved tourist destinations to a brand new audience of seasoned, luxury travellers for the very first time.
Among the places and items showcased in the article include:
- Site of Reversible Destiny
- Yoro Falls
- Mosaic Tile Museum, Tajimi
- Kobeigama
- Gujo Hachiman
- Gujo Hachiman Castle
- Watanabe Somemono Dyehouse
For further information related to the above:
In the feature, Tamara writes that “The Site of Reversible Destiny didn’t make us age in reverse, but we’ll always be thankful that it introduced us to Gifu”.
It is our earnest hope that you will also enjoy the same sentiments no matter where your introduction may be to this great land of plenty.
