Located in the heart of Gifu City at the foot of Mt. Kinka lies Gifu Park, which is said to have been where the lords of Gifu Castle, Dosan Saito and Oda Nobunaga, made their home during the Warring States period.
Blessed by the abundant nature of Mt. Kinka, Gifu Park is home to many fabulous locations, such as Nobunaga’s Garden, the remains of his former residence, the Gifu City Museum of History, the Kato Eizo - Toichi Memorial Art Museum as well as many other fascinating facilities are on park grounds, in addition to the Mt. Kinka Ropeway that takes passengers up to the summit in roughly 3 minutes. Or, if you’re the hiking type, there are several different paths of varying difficulty that lead up the mountain.
Gifu Park is the perfect place to enjoy breathtaking cherry blossoms in the spring or the beautiful colors of autumn leaves in the fall.
