Come join in the festivities and witness a historical reenactment of the Battle of Sekigahara!

Known throughout the country as the best event for history buffs across Japan to assemble and celebrate the Battle of Sekigahara, a decisive conflict that brought an end to Japan's long Warring States period in October of 1600 CE. This event is held in October of every year in and brings together history enthusiasts to enjoy both the festivities and one another's company on the fields of Sekigahara where that epic battle was fought over 400 years ago.

The festival’s main event is a historical reenactment of the Battle of Sekigahara with the participants donning full sets of armor and is not to be missed!

There are plenty of exciting things to check out during the festival, whether it’s demonstrations of matchlock gun shooting, the Sengoku Marketplace where you can buy different Warring States period goods or the Sekigahara Sengoku Live Concert, there’s a wealth of events to keep visitors with an interest in Japanese history entertained.

The dates of the festival change every year, but as the Battle of Sekigahara was fought on October 21st, 1600 CE, the Battle of Sekigahara Festival tends to fall on the weekend closest to that date.
