This nameless pond in Seki has become an online sensation, celebrated for its pristine clear waters with a remarkable resemblance to Claude Monet’s water lilies paintings. Colourful carp swimming gracefully through these crystal-clear waters creates a breathtaking image. The surrounding nature makes the area of Itadori a pleasure to explore.

Seasonal beauty at Monet’s Pond is best seen in:

  • Early summer when the water lilies start to bloom (full bloom expected in mid-June to mid-July)
  • Autumn when the surrounding maples turn vibrant red creating stunning reflections in the clear water

The nearby area is also about to bloom with thousands of hydrangeas. Enjoy the surrounding area as Itadori is painted in purple hydrangea hues from mid-June. There are so many hydrangeas in this area that this section of the Prefectural Road 52 is nicknamed “The Hydrangea Road”!
