Including the Former Ōdo House (a nationally designated Important Cultural Property), there are a total of 10 gassho-zukuri thatched roof buildings that were moved here to recreate the atmosphere of a classic folk settlement, letting guests enjoy the gassho-zukuri lifestyle experience through different activities and exhibits.
There is no shortage of things to do, whether it's enjoying a Shirasagi-za Shadow Play, dining in an authentic gassho-zukuri thatched roof home, trying your hand at painting designs onto pottery or making Japanese washi paper.
A new building, the “Enkū House”, has also opened its doors to visitors.
