A huge congratulations to Okuhida Hot Spring Villages for taking the top spot in the “Overall Satisfaction” category in Jalan’s Popular Hot Spring Area Ranking 2023! The ranking is based off of surveys conducted regularly about Japan’s 327 hot-spring areas on Japanese travel website Jalan.net.
Gifu Prefecture is a region filled with mountains, and there’s no better place to bask in the glory of these sky-high wonders than the Okuhida Hot Spring Villages located in the Northern Japan Alps, as the survey participants can attest.

The area is especially beautiful in October, when the mountainsides turn yellow and orange as the leaves change color.
