Goshikigahara Forest lays at the foot of Mt. Norikura and covers an expansive 3,000 hectares of the Chubusangaku National Park’s southernmost edge. The forest is home to a diverse ecosystem with enormous waterfalls, ravines, clear rivers, ponds and even wetlands. In order to preserve the precious environments of the forest, one must be accompanied by an official guide when visiting the area (guides that can speak English or Chinese are available for booking).
Tours are conducted from mid-May through the end of October, and require reservations and tour-fee payments in advance. Please see the website (Jpn) for the various walking courses that range from half to full-day tours, or email the address below for more information and tour booking.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience the mystical nature here with a guide that’s well versed in all of its secrets!
