A historic inn with panoramic views of Seki, set within temple grounds featuring a unique Manji-shaped kaidan-meguri passage, a rarity even in Japan.

Located in the heart of Seki City, Seki Zekou-ji Temple, also known as Sokyu-ji, is home to Japan’s only 49-meter-long Manji-shaped kaidan-meguri, a pitch-dark temple passage that visitors can enter as part of a Buddhist ritual.

Within the temple grounds, visitors can also relax at the peaceful Café Sabou Sokyu. At the back of the cafe is a stylish private-rental inn where guests can stay overnight to fully immerse themselves in the tranquility of the temple. Overnight guests can enjoy a Japanese-style breakfast and take part in morning temple activities such as sutra copying, bell-ringing, and meditation alongside the chief priest.

Visitors can enjoy the changing beauty of the seasons throughout the year as cherry blossoms fill the temple grounds in spring, and vibrant foliage transforms the scenery in autumn.
