🚌 Access: From Nagoya, take the Shinano Line (toward Nagano) to Nakatsugawa (~50 min), then transfer to the Magome bus (~25 min) to the Magome bus stop.

The Nakasendo, the historic route connecting two ancient capitals, Kyoto and Edo, where forests, mountains, and cobbled paths lead you through some of Japan’s most picturesque post stations. Along the Kiso Valley, winter brings an extra touch of magic with the Kisoji Ice and Snow Candle Festival from January 24th to February 14th, with a stop at Gifu’s very own Magome-juku on February 7th.
Magome-juku, located on a steep incline, is renowned for its unique and breathtaking beauty. Step back in time as you explore this peaceful town in the soft glow of candlelight. Looking up or down the hill, the candle-lined view is unforgettable.
