On October 5th, a personal injury accident involving an Asiatic black bear occurred near Ogimachi, Shirakawa Village, Ono District, Gifu Prefecture.
As of October 5, 2025, there have been 447 bear sightings and two personal injury accidents in the prefecture.
As bears enter hibernation this season, they become more active. The prefecture is urging caution due to the increased risk of personal injury.
Please exercise caution, especially when sightseeing in mountainous areas.

- Pay attention to bear sighting information issued by prefectures, municipalities, etc.
- When entering the mountains, use bells or radios to make sound and indicate your presence. Travel in groups whenever possible.
