Winter illumination at Ogimachi Village for six days – an event not to be missed!
Join this exclusive event that occurs only six nights a year! See the gassho-zukuri-style farmhouses of UNESCO World Heritage Site Shirakawa-go illuminated at night against a snowy white landscape, looking like a magical scene straight out of a fairytale.
Please note that there are rules and regulations in place as well as some changes made to how the event is held to ensure the safety of visitors and the villagers that live there. Please carefully go through the information on the Shirakawa-go website if you are interested in attending.
