We’re still in the thick of winter (Gifu’s just had heavy snowfall last week too!) but it’s never too early to start planning ahead for next season! We have information that will help you figure out the best time to come see the beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom!

❤️ The cherry blossoms have been forecasted to bloom a week earlier than usual this year so be sure to not miss out!!

Gifu offers one of the longest blooming seasons (if not the longest) for cherry blossoms in the country due to the elevation differences between regions. Cherry blossom trees in the south usually bloom from late March to early April, while those in the mountainous north bloom from mid- to late April, sometimes even in early May.

Wherever you may be in Gifu, you can definitely look forward to having your fill of cherry blossoms when visiting in spring!
