Sarubobo are cute, loveable protection charms from Gifu’s northern Hida region that were originally given to loved ones in hopes of safe child birth. They are named after their resemblance to baby monkeys and the red color was traditionally believed to ward off evil spirits and repel epidemic diseases.
Following their natural instincts as protective entities they want to remind everyone of some safety tips to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
