Visiting Gifu City this autumn or winter? Gifu Park and Mount Kinka are must-visit attractions, especially in autumn when the foliage bursts into vibrant colours!

Wander through the expansive park, then take the ropeway up Mount Kinka to enjoy breathtaking views over Gifu City!

⚠️ Please note that the ropeway and the mountaintop facilities will be closed for maintenance during the following periods:

  • December 1 to 28, 2026
  • January 7 to February 16, 2027

Even though Mount Kinka will not be accessible during the above periods, Gifu Park should still be on your itinerary!

Browse the shops and eateries at the Rakuichi Market, admire the striking beauty of the three-story pagoda surrounded by snow, or warm up inside the Gifu City Museum of History. Just a short walk away, you’ll also find Gifu’s Great Buddha and the traditional townscape of Kawaramachi.

Be sure to add Gifu Park to your travel plans but keep these closure periods in mind if you’re hoping to visit Mount Kinka and enjoy the panoramic views from the summit.
